The County Attorney provides legal advice and representation to the Board of Commissioners, County departments, County boards and some elected officials. The County Attorney also drafts ordinances and reviews contracts and other legal documents. The County Attorney may not provide legal advice and representation to the general public. The functions of the County Attorney are limited by law. Public Records Requests All requests for public records of Clay County must be made to: Clay County Clerk There will be a charge of twenty-five cents ($0.25) per page that is copied. An administrative fee for the search, retrieval, monitoring and other direct administrative costs in conjunction with filing a document request, will also be charged. This cost represents the hourly rates of the lowest paid individual who possess the necessary skill and training to perform the request. |
